Jurgen Klopp confirmed Jordan Henderson will remain Liverpool captain under his reign at Anfield.
The England international hasn't featured for Klopp yet as he has been on the sidelines due to injury.
His last game for the Reds was earlier in the season against Bournemouth, but the German confirmed his captain is edging closer to full fitness and will continue to lead his men out of the tunnel when he returns.
“There was no second of doubt about this decision,” said Klopp, as Liverpool Echo reported. “I didn’t ask because it was logical for me, we never had to think about whether Henderson was the right captain.
“I’ve met him, he’s an absolute leader and he’s in a good way at this moment, and we all hope he’s back in a few weeks.
“I do not know what will happen in the next two weeks, it’s very important and we’re waiting for this. Hendo stays captain.”
