NIKICA JELAVIC has made a surprise return from injury to help Hull's survival bid.
The Croatian striker has been out since mid-March after undergoing knee surgery for the second time this season.
It was feared Hull's eight-goal top scorer could miss the rest of the campaign.
But he is expected to be named in the squad to face Arsenal on Monday.
Manager Steve Bruce: "We will see over the next couple of days but the way he was tramping around the other day, it was typical Jelavic.
"I can't speak highly enough of him. He has had two serious knee operations and worked like stink to get back involved.
"I think if he is going to be involved, it will be from the bench.
"For me, if he had stayed fit all season then we would have been fine. Our troubles came when he first got injured in October.
"You are only as good as your strikers, no matter what level you are at. Top or bottom. We struggled without Jelavic."
