Rickie Lambert, who sealed a move from Anfield to the Hawthorns, scored his first goal for the Baggies, 23 minutes into his debut against Bristol Rovers in a pre-season friendly.
When asked if it was a tough decision to quit Liverpool, the new West Brom striker said: “No, not really.
“The prospect of going into another season and not playing was not going to happen.
“I want to get back playing football and scoring goals – that is why I love football.
“I think it will be good for me and a good move for West Brom.
“I think me and Saido Berahino up top will be a great partnership and that is another reason why I am looking forward to being a West Brom player.
“I am really excited and feel like I have a lot of things to prove. “I have a lot of hunger and desire to do well.”
