“If we arrive to the semi-final it will be a very important achievement," says Pellegrini.

Man City can go all the way - Pellegrini.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini is convinced his side can win the Champions League this season as they aren't in Europe's elite competition to make up the numbers.

The Citizens are desperate to see off Ligue 1 champions PSG at the Etihad to book a spot in the semi-finals of the competition for the first time.

However, speaking ahead of their quarter-final second leg tie on Tuesday, Pellegrini said as the Daily Mirror quoted: “If we arrive to the semi-final it will be a very important achievement but we will not be happy just with that.

“We must play every game thinking that we are the best and that we can win. We want to arrive in the semi-final and to go on and try to win this competition.

“It is a very important game, not for me or because of what will happen for me next season. It is very important because we can achieve an important target which is the semi-final of the Champions League.

“Then the most important thing is to have a focused mind for the semi-final. After that you will see who you must play. After that you play against a very good team.

“But it doesn’t matter against whom you must play. It is important to feel you have the quality and capacity to be on the same level as them.”
