Ex-England midfielder Ince insists that Man Utd needs to be restructured - “Everything needs to change from top to bottom.”
Former Manchester United defensive midfielder Paul Ince has urged Ralf Rangnick to implement a new philosophy at Old Trafford.
The German has been appointed as United’s interim manager until the end of the 2021-22 campaign following the sacking of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Rangnick will take up a consultancy role which could allow a coach like Mauricio Pochettino to take up the job when it becomes available in the summer.
United confirmed his first game in the dugout will be against Crystal Palace after a delay in receiving his working visa.
However, Ince, who won major trophies at the Theatre of Dreams under Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign, stressed that ‘United’s executive team don’t know anything about football’.
When speaking to Genting Casino, the 54-year-old said: "He’ll have to change the whole philosophy of the club. The Man United executive team, they don’t know anything about football.
"The Glazers bought the club just for profit, it was nothing to do with football.
"There hasn’t been anyone like Martin Edwards or David Gill; football people at the club. United needs to be restructured.
"Everything needs to change from top to bottom. There isn’t a model at United.
"Ralf needs to create a model that’s going to make Manchester United successful."
It is believed the German will need a substantial element of control if he is to make things work at United and it remains to be seen if the club’s hierarchy will give him that chance.
