JAMIE CARRAGHER reckons Manchester United have nothing to moan about after Jose Mourinho gave his Chelsea side four days off ahead of this weekend's clash with Liverpool.
Mourinho allowed his star names to rest up after securing the Premier League title with a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace let weekend.
That has infuriated some United fans, who claim top-four rivals Liverpool have been handed an advantage by the Portuguese.
But Carragher says Chelsea have earned the right to do as they please after bagging top spot.
"Manchester United cannot complain about that," he told Sky Sports.
"If Jose Mourinho wants to give his players days off then they deserve it.
"They are the champions. If United, or anyone else for that matter, are unhappy about it then they should concentrate on doing better in the league and making sure they aren’t champions with three games to spare. That’s the only answer."
Liverpool are four points adrift of United in the race for a Champions League spot.
The Reds may need a win to keep their top-four hopes alive with Louis van Gaal's side playing 24 hours earlier against Crystal Palace.
And Carragher reckons his former side might find things easier against Chelsea now they've got the title in the bag.
"It’s certainly better for Liverpool to play Chelsea now than if they were still going for the league," he added.
"We’ve seen it in the past, even from teams struggling against relegation.
"When they play a big team towards the end of the season when things are wrapped it is maybe easier. It’s just the way the fixtures fall."
