Jamie Redknapp: A big job on for Conte at Chelsea.

  • Chelsea's demise this season has been staggering.

  • A lot of work awaits Conte at Chelsea.

The Premier League champions were beaten 3-0 by Manchester City at Stamford Bridge, and former Liverpool and Tottenham midfielder Jamie Redknapp said Chelsea looked a shadow of the side that won the title last season.

Chelsea were poor when they hosted the Citizens on Saturday as they suffered their second three nil defeat of the campaign to Manuel Pellegrini's side. However, Redknapp reckons Antonio Conte has a lot of work to do when he takes over after the Euros this summer.

"The demise this season has been staggering," the former England international told Sky Sports. "It's difficult to say what has happened. There are so many different factors. It's quite worrying for Chelsea and Conte a big job on.

"Pep Guardiola must be thinking he has a real chance with that group at City whereas Conte has a lot more to do."

Thibaut Courtois was sent off for fouling Fernandinho, allowing Aguero to wrap-up the win from the penalty spot after scoring in the 33rd and 54th minute.
