Jan Vertonghen praises Spurs' mental strength.

Jan Vertonghen believes the players are learning from mistakes.

Tottenham Hotspur extended their unbeaten run to 10 games in the Premier League following a 3-1 win over Aston Villa at White Hart Lane on Monday night.

Mousa Dembele, Dele Alli and Harry Kane all scored on the night to hand Mauricio Pochettino's side three points. However, after the tie Vertoghen hailed their all round performance.

“It was a good win,” said Jan, as Tottenhamhotspur.com reported. “We started well, kept playing our game, looked very solid. We scored a great goal just before half-time and that capped a very good first half.

“At half-time we went over the game we had against Stoke where we played well, 2-0 up and then drew 2-2. After they scored we were a bit nervous but I don’t think we were in big trouble.

“Our group has a very good mentality. We try to push each other every time again and again.

“I think we’re learning from our mistakes at the beginning of the season. We’re 10 unbeaten now, we could have had more points, that’s how it goes, but after 11 games we can be happy with our performances.

"We’re improving and looking good."
