Jurgen Klopp - Philippe Coutinho will not be leaving for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has quashed rumours linking Philippe Coutinho with a move away from Anfield.

The Brazilian, who joined the Reds from Serie A side Inter Milan back in 2013, could make his return from injury in the EFL Cup semi-final against Southampton tomorrow.

However, the former Dortmund coach understands that interest in Liverpool's key man from other club is inevitable.

Klopp said: “It would be nice if big clubs thought like this and forgot about a player completely because he's been injured for five or six weeks. But big clubs don't think this way unfortunately.

"But we never had any ideas or any plans or any talks about this because he is our player and there are no other ideas. And nothing has changed."

Coutinho, who has been out of action since damaging his ankle ligaments on November 26, has been in fine form under Klopp this season scoring six goals and registering five assists in 14 matches.
