  • Kelechi Iheanacho has scored 11 goals from 15 shots on target in all competitions this season.

Manchester City moved up to third in the Premier League with a 4-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday and Kelechi Iheanacho was very pleased with his display.

Iheanacho's brace (64th and 74th minute) helped the Citizens seal three points at the Etihad after Fernando's opener and Sergio Aguero's goal from the penalty spot.

And, after the clash the BBC Sport quoted the Nigerian saying: “I am very pleased and happy to score goals today. I thank my team-mates, the manager and the fans. I am improving a lot but I need to work even harder to show my qualities."

Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini also said Iheanacho has an important role to play at the Etihad.

"Kelechi Iheanacho is an important young player with a lot of future,” the Chilean said: “He scores lots of goals but he is not just a penalty box player. I am sure that his role in this team will be very important.”
