Klopp after Liverpool draw with Fulham: 'It doesn't help with the number of games.'

The Reds could have overtaken Tottenham in the league table after Jose Mourinho's Lilywhites were held to a draw at Crystal Palace.

FT: Fulham 1-1 Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool missed their chance to leapfrog Tottenham Hotspur at the top of the Premier League table as they played out a 1-1 draw with Fulham.

The English top-flight defending champions almost lost the game against Scott Parker’s side at Craven Cottage on Sunday.

Fulham took the lead in west London via Bobby Decordova-Reid, who found the net with a superb strike in the 25th-minute.

The Whites could have possibly sealed all three points but Aboubakar Kamara's arm gifted the Merseyside club a penalty late on in the game and Mohamed Salah calmly fired the ball into the net to salvage a point for Jurgen Klopp’s side.

After the match, Klopp bemoaned the congested fixture list, saying his Reds are feeling the effect.

Klopp said as BBC Sport quoted: "In the first 30 minutes we were just not good. We could have lost the game in that period. After half an hour it was already better. The second half was good. We could have had more [goals].

"We are dealing with human beings and things like this happen.

"Yesterday all the teams that played in the Champions League had a tough one. It's crazy. Maybe this was the weekend we felt it a little bit.

"It doesn't help with the number of games that we have to play the same players. There was a push definitely -100%.

"We move on. Tottenham is the next challenge."
