Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that the club's former captain Steven Gerrard will not be training at Melwood any time soon, but he is free to train there whenever he wants.
With the MLS season closed, and Gerrard on holiday, the manager has once again quashed rumours of a possible return for the former England international, liverpoolfc.com reports.
“No, he is on holiday and that's good. He’s not had that much holiday since he left Liverpool and went to LA, so now he is enjoying his holiday.
“It was good. He is a really, really good person. I liked it and enjoyed the time we spent together.
“We spoke about many things, but nothing is happening. He doesn’t want to play next week, he doesn’t want to train next week – he is on holiday. That’s what I can say.
“If he does want to train [here] then of course he can, there’s no question. He can use Melwood as he did for about 500 years, so there’s no problem!
“Then he will go back to LA and train and play there.”
