Liverpool's left-back Kostas Tsimikas showered praise on teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold, hailing the England international for salvaging the Reds' fortunes with a spectacular goal against Manchester City on Saturday.
In a tense encounter at the Etihad Stadium, Alexander-Arnold's brilliant strike in the 80th minute neutralised Erling Haaland's first-half opener, ensuring that Jürgen Klopp's side secured a hard-fought point.
Reflecting on the crucial contribution, Tsimikas expressed admiration for the vice-captain while speaking to Liverpoolfc.com: "Of course he is confident, we are Scousers, you know! I can't imagine how calm he was because if that was me, I couldn't stay calm! The player he is, you can't describe it. Everybody in the football world knows. It was a very good goal, very important, and I am very happy for him and for the team."
When asked about Liverpool's aspirations for the season, Tsimikas spoke optimistically about the team's potential, highlighting the impact of the summer signings. "I believe we have a very good team. All the players that came in [during the summer] make us even stronger, very talented players. I think we have everything to fight for everything, so we will go for it."
"I've said many, many times [that] we set our goals at the start of the season; we want to win everything, the Premier League games, cup games, and the Europa League. So I think the future can be bright for us, and we have to give everything and fight in every moment," Tsimikas emphasised.
