A New Chapter Begins For The Former Man City Star As He Links Up With Scott Parker’s Premier League-Bound Clarets
Burnley have made a statement with the signing of seasoned England international Kyle Walker, bringing the veteran right-back to Turf Moor in a deal reportedly worth up to £5 million.
The 35-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal, reuniting with head coach Scott Parker, a former teammate from their Tottenham Hotspur days. Speaking after completing his medical, Walker couldn’t hide his enthusiasm about the move.
“I’m delighted to be here,” Walker told the club’s official site. “I can’t wait to come in and add my experience and quality to what looks like an exciting squad. Once I spoke with Scott and heard about his plans, it was an opportunity I didn’t want to miss.”
Burnley Land A Proven Winner
Walker brings with him a wealth of top-level experience, having collected 17 major trophies during his glittering stint with Manchester City, including being part of the iconic Treble-winning side in 2023.
After featuring 15 times for City in the first half of last season, he spent the second half on loan at AC Milan. Though the Serie A giants didn’t make the deal permanent, Walker showed he’s still got plenty left in the tank.
A Creative Unveiling, A Serious Statement
Burnley, freshly promoted back to the Premier League, welcomed Walker with a touch of flair, using Lionel Richie’s “Hello” music video as part of their official unveiling on X. Clearly, the Clarets are in high spirits and ready to make a splash in their return season.
Fifth Signing, But A First In Experience
Walker becomes Burnley’s fifth summer signing, joining Axel Tuanzebe, Quilindschy Hartman, Max Weiss, and Loum Tchaouna.
But make no mistake, he's the marquee arrival so far, a player whose leadership and high standards could help anchor the club’s ambitious top-flight return.
