Abraham deserves his chance in the England squad.
Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is confident Tammy Abraham will be successful with England following the striker’s called up to Gareth Southgate’s team.
The Blues frontman was called to join the England squad for the first time in two years following his impressive start to the season for the west London club.
Gareth Southgate‘s Three Lions will play Czech Republic and Bulgaria in Prague and Sofia as they look to build on their 100% win in the UEFA EURO 2020 Qualifiers.
Lamapard, however, said in his press conference on Friday that the Chelsea youngster, who has scored a total of eight goals so far this season, can lead the line for England.
"I'm very happy and I think it's well deserved," Lampard said as Sky Sports reported. "He's scoring goals regularly for us, everyone knows his form is really good and it's a natural progression for him.
"I don't want to put too much on his shoulders because step by step he's shown that he can score goals - twice in the Championship and now he's showing that he can score goals in the Premier League.
"I want to see him continue playing and scoring goals for Chelsea and then naturally when he goes into the England squad he has all the attributes to go there and be successful.
"It will be another step for him and I'm sure he has those attributes and the attitude to take that challenge of being a goal-scorer for England."
