Arsenal legend Jens Lehmann is convinced Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech is still top class and says his best years are still ahead of him.
The 32-year-old has been at Stamford Bridge counting 11 years now and has been the no.1 choice when available for selection, not until Thibaut Courtois’ arrival this season which has seen the Czech international fallen down the pecking order at the west London club.
However, former Germany international said Cech - who is a target for Liverpool and Arsenal - still has a lot in him to offer and is getting to the best age for a goalkeeper.
“Courtois is probably the best [young] talent around and he has done really great so far, but in tight games he still has to prove he is up to the challenge of what Petr Cech has done," Lehmann told talkSPORT.
“He [Cech] is getting to the best age for a goalkeeper. I have experienced it myself, when all of a sudden physique comes together with experience. The best years are still ahead of him.”
