Lionel Messi: "I want to help my team win titles."

Lionel Messi said that he is not interested in competing with Cristiano Ronaldo to become the world's greatest player.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have both claimed the last six Ballon d`or awards and are both compared often by the fans, pundits, footballers and the media.

However, Messi insists that he has no interest in competing with Cristiano Ronaldo or anyone and just wants to win titles with Barcelona.

"Competing with Cristiano? I don't feel like competing with him or anyone else," Messi said on Thursday. "It's not about individual awards; I want to help my team.

"I don't think about my place in football history," Messi insisted. "I just want to keep getting better and win trophies with my team.

"This summer we have signed great players, who have adapted very fast to Barcelona. We have a great group now."

The Argentine also tipped Neymar to become the best player in the world. He said: "It’s only his second year here, but I have a great relation with Neymar, both on and off the pitch. He’s a great kid.

"Because of his potential, I think Neymar could become the best in the world. He’s a great player; it’s a pleasure to play with him."
