Brendan Rodgers praised Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet after the Reds smash Aston Villa 2-0 at Villa Park.
Italian forward Fabio Borini broke the deadlock of the tie in the 25th minute and former Southampton striker Paul Lambert increased the deficit in the second half, making it Liverpool's fourth win in five games.
However, the Belgium shot stopper was really impressive during the clash and very dominant in front of goal which the Northern Irishman spotted and praised Mignolet for his all-round display today.
“Hopefully today is the turning point for him,” Rodgers told talkSPORT. “He looked like a Liverpool goalkeeper.
“It was difficult for him because he had to play against Christian Benteke, who is a real handful in the air.
“He came and collected crosses though, and his hands were good.
“He’s always been a very good shot-stopper. Today what he had to do, he did well.
“He looked a real dominate goalkeeper and I’m very pleased for him.”
