Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson: “The Gaffer has changed our mentality.”

Henderson happy with fantastic Liverpool mentality.

The "fantastic" mentality at Liverpool was key to their come-back 2-1 win against Tottenham at Anfield, according to Jordan Henderson.

Harry Kane broke the deadlock within 47 seconds against the hosts, who found it hard to breakdown the Spurs defence, but midfielder Henderson equalised in the 52nd minute with a close-range strike before Mohamed Salah wrapped up the win from the penalty spot after Sadio Mane was brought down in the box by Serge Aurier. 

Following Liverpool’s ninth win in 10 Premier League games this season, the England international was asked what motivates the Reds to bounce back from tough spells, and he told Sky Sports: "Mentality.

"That's grown over the last few years. The gaffer has changed that so much in us and the mentality's fantastic throughout the squad.

"Whenever we face adversity we bounce back and we need to carry that right through the season because it's not going to go all our own way; it's going to be difficult at times like it was today.

"But it's about going through that, pushing each other and always believing."
