Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will be leaving his childhood club for the MLS in the summer.
The former England captain announced he will be ending his 17-year career at Anfield at the end of the season and has confirmed the USA to be his next destination where he would be continuing his career.
The 34-year-old told LFCTV he won’t be playing against Liverpool next season and moving to the MLS will be his best choice but hasn’t revealed which club he will be playing for just yet.
A number of MLS sides have been reported to be interested in the Liverpool legend, with LA Galaxy, New York City and New York Red Bulls being one of those interested in the former England international.
A move to the MLS would mean he won’t be facing Liverpool in a competitive match and knowing Steven Gerrard that would be a perfect move for him.
