James Milner reacts after Liverpoo‘s 2-1 win over Bournemouth on Saturday.
James Milner has heaped praise on Liverpool’s great attitude in their 2-1 over Bournemouth on Saturday.
The England international said it was all about the Reds ‘finding a way to get results’ after they were knocked out of the FA Cup by Chelsea on Tuesday night.
Callum Wilson broke the deadlock for the Cherries in the 9th minute at Anfield, but Jurgen Klopp’s Reds responded via Mohamed Salah in the 25th minute and Sadio Mane in the 33rd minute to bounce back to winning ways.
And Milner, who had a brilliant man-of-the-match display on Merseyside, expressed his delight while speaking to BT Sports: "It was important that the boys showed great attitude to come back after some iffy results.
"It all about just finding a way to get the results now.
"We have seen spells in the last few games where we have not been good enough. It's up to us to improve but it's not down to a lack of effort.
"It's impossible to go through a season without an iffy spell, but it's about how you are going to come through that and the boys are working hard.
"Henderson has been massive for us this season. Obviously he is the captain and it will be great to have him back.
"But we know how many points we need. When it gets closer it is always going to get harder. But mentally we have been there before. We've had disappointments and bounced back. You can see the mentality of the players, the drive and the tunnel vision. I hope, if that continues, it will get us back to the level of performance we know we are capable of."
