LIVERPOOL are on the verge of signing Portuguese youngster Paulinho.
Paulinho, 17, plies his trade with Portuguese third division side Sanjoanense.
The Reds - who are currently lying in fifth place in the Premier League - have been in negotiations to land the youngster for the past few months.
And now, they are on the brink of getting their man.
In a statement on their official website, Sanjoanense confirmed the Reds had struck an agreement for the talented youngster - who will travel to Liverpool with his father in the next few days to finalise the deal.
"Sanjoanense informs that, after many months of negotiations, they have reached an agreement with Liverpool for the transfer, outright, of Paulo Alves [Paulinho]," the statement read.
"The agreement comes after a period of testing at the legendary English club, which met the expectations of his parents.
"It should be formalised in the coming days, with the player allowed to travel to Liverpool in the company of his father."
Paulinho will return to Portugal once the deal has been officially completed.
