Moura says David Luiz will be stronger.
Lucas Moura is happy David Luiz has joined north London rivals Arsenal - but the Tottenham attacker won’t be his friend on the pitch on Sunday.
Luiz sealed a shock deadline-day switch from Chelsea to the Emirates for a reported £8million fee, and he has gone straight into Unai Emery’s starting 11 in their last two games.
The 32-year-old endured a difficult afternoon at Anfield last weekend, conceding a penalty to Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah who scored his spot-kick, before failing to prevent the Egypt international from scoring a brilliant individual goal a few minutes later.
Speaking ahead of the north London derby at the Emirates this weekend, former PSG forward Moura told Standard Sport: "David is a very experienced player and knows how to go through this situation. He will be stronger very soon.
"I am happy for him because it was a good transfer for him to make. I am also happy because he is closer to me now.
"He can come visit me at my home easier because when he was at Chelsea, he was so far away!"
The Brazilian added: "On Sunday he will be my opponent, I will work and do the best for my team to get three points. On the pitch (out relationship) is different.
"It doesn’t matter who the opponent is, I need to do my best and try to win."
