PSG were keen to sign Luis during the final weeks of the summer transfer window.
The Brazil full-back admits he asked Atleti to grant him a transfer away from the Wanda Metropolitano.
Filipe Luis has revealed he was keen to leave Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Brazil international confirmed he asked Atleti to let him to join Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain who were keen on his services.
“The opportunity came up to go to PSG and I told Atletico,” he told Globoesporte. “I asked them to let me leave, the way they did with Gabi recently.
“The club didn't see both situations in the same way, despite the similarities in the time remaining on our contracts.
“They said I was insisting on it, but that's a lie. I've been with Atletico a long time and that made me sad because they tried to affect my image at the club.”
