Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed he turned down a move to join current Serie A champions Juventus because he felt that Everton was the perfect fit for him.
Lukaku joined Everton from Chelsea during the summer transfer window in a £28 million deal after becoming unhappy about Mourinho's reluctance to make him the number one striker at Stamford Bridge.
And the 21-year-old Belgian has said he preferred joining Everton despite interests from Juve who offered Champions League football.
"I thought about Serie A and Juventus because they are a big club, but for me Everton was perfect," Lukaku told the Sunday People
"I'm here and I'm happy. I don't regret any choices I've made. Everton was the best choice I could make as a young player who wants to progress and develop.
"This club is a good fit for me. They made so many efforts to get me. I feel at home here."
The Toffees currently sit in 17th position, winning just one out of their seven opening matches and Lukaku believes finishing in the top-four is still a target.
"Everton play good football, we play at the top part of the league and everyone wants to win," Lukaku said. "We want to show that last year wasn't a fluke.
"Our mission is to get that Champions League slot because it was in our hands last season and we let it slip."
