Manchester City cruised into the FA Cup fourth round with a win over Chelsea at the Etihad Stadium.
Algeria international Riyad Mahrez says 'it's a good day' after Manchester City beat Chelsea 4-0 to qualify for the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Pep Guardiola's Cityzens ran riot over Graham Potter's Blues as Mahrez broke the deadlock with a sublime free-kick, Julian Alvarez doubling the lead with a penalty, Phil Foden finishing off a delightful team move, and Mahrez adding the fourth from the penalty spot.
It was quite easy for the Premier League champions and a horror show from Chelsea, with Potter under immense pressure at Stamford Bridge.
Following the match that saw the Chelsea travelling support chant the name of Thomas Tuchel, Mahrez told BBC One: "It's good to have played the way we played, to score four goals and keep a clean sheet, it's a good day for us.
"I was going to take the first penalty but Julian [Alvarez] asked me so of course he took it. He's a striker, he needs goals so it's good for him. The second one, I wanted to take it.
"Everyone has been involved and it has been very good. Every season we try to be involved in every competition. We're still in all the competitions and have to keep going."
Guardiola added: "Really good from the first minute to the end. We made an incredibly intense game against a top side. Next round, next competition, we're happy to still be there."
