Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini: "We will see how far we can go" in the Champions League.

Pellegrini Hails City's UCL Progress.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini praised his side’s all round display after the Citizens qualified for the Champions League quarter final.

Pellegrini and his men played out a 3-1 aggregate over Dynamo Kiev to book their place in the quarter final for the first time in Europe’s elite competition.

After their 0-0 draw in the second leg with Kiev at the Etihad on Tuesday night, the Chilean said as mcfc.co.uk quoted: “We are very happy for the achievement because it’s important for this club to improve every season.

“The last two seasons we were unlucky to play against Barcelona in the round of 16. We now arrive in the best eight teams in the competition for the first time and we will see how far we can go.

“We had a very difficult group with teams from the best leagues in Europe and we won it. We are now more experienced for winning the group and this means we are better prepared to go further.”

Pellegrini was also pleased with their defensive performance on the day.

“We normally are a team who always score so we get criticism about not keeping clean sheets. We have kept three in-a-row now.

“It was important for us to keep the ball and not let them create chances. They knew before the game they had to score three.”
