The Citizen's captain Vincent Kompany gave thought to their “massive” victory at the Etihad, as Aguero's 63rd minute goal saw Pellegrini's side beat Manchester United 1-0 on Sunday.
Sergio Aguero [who has the highest goals per minute ratio in the history of the Premier League] fired home an assist from Gael Clichy after Louis van Gaal's side were reduced to 10 men in the first half.
Manchester City are currently third on the league table, six points behind leaders Chelsea and the City captain Kompany appears to be full of confidence as he said: “The derby win is massive.
“For a minute, the league doesn't matter. It gives us our city back. It is a boost for us and we will do our job again in the Champions League on Wednesday.
“You can only think about the next game and improve performances, we will gradually get there again.
“We are working every day to make sure we are a better team than last year.”
