Sterling pleased with Man City display against Arsenal.
Manchester City attacker Raheem Sterling is pleased his side sealed three points at the Emirates.
The England international, who couldn’t wait for his holidays to finish because he wanted to get ready for the new season, scored with a brilliant strike from the edge of the box in the 14th minute before Bernardo Silva wrapped up the win in the 64th minute as Pep Guardiola’s side beat Unai Emery’s Gunners 2-0 on Sunday.
However, while speaking to BBC Match of the Day following the win, Sterling said: “I couldn't wait for my holidays to finish. I needed to get back and I'm really happy I could be involved today. I wanted to play and it's great that we got three points.
"We did the job we needed to do. There were some scary patches but it's a great start to come here and get three points.
On Riyad Mahrez, he said: "He is a player who will improve pretty much every team he goes to. His quality on the ball is huge and he is a player that wins matches."
And, regarding this season’s targets, he replied: "It's about having a winning mentality that the manager is trying to install in us. We have to keep doing these things. We can't just be happy with the Premier League last season. That's gone now - we need new challenges."
