Gundogan expressed his delight at Man City handing him a new contract.
The midfield ace has recommitted to the Premier League champions until 2023.
Ilkay Gundogan has finally ended any and all rumours linking him with a move away from Manchester City after he put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.
The Germany international has pledged his future to City by signing a new four-year deal that will see him remain at the Etihad until 2023.
Speculations since the close season suggested Gundogan would leave on a free next year (2020) as he was to enter the final 12 months of his previous contract after talks over an extension fell through during the second half of last season.
Well, Gundogan has now joined defender Kyle Walker in recently agreeing new terms with the Citizens.
“I have hugely enjoyed the last three years here at City.”
"I have hugely enjoyed the last three years here at City and everyone at the club has helped make me feel at home from my very first day," Gundogan told his club's website.
"It's a privilege to be a part of this team, playing the style of football we do and winning trophies. It's very difficult to do that and I'm delighted to be a part of it.
"I'm really excited about what we can go on to achieve in the next few seasons."
