According to the Mirror, Manchester United are plotting a mega bid for Real Madrid superstar Gareth Bale that involves David de Gea moving to the Bernabeu.
Madrid have apparently made it clear to the Old Trafford club that any deal for Bale has to include the Spanish goalkeeper. United transfer negotiator Ed Woodward values the 24 year old shot stopper at an eye-popping £50m, which would be a world-record fee for a goalkeeper, and he is ready to pay De Gea plus £50m in order to bring Bale back to the Premier League.
It is believed that De Gea is waiting to see if the Reds can secure a top four finish ensuring their participation in the lucrative Champions League before committing to a new deal.
Louis van Gaal thinks that he has a ready-made replacement for De Gea in the form of Victor Valdes and would have no hesitation in shipping him off to the Spanish capital in order to secure a deal the Welsh international. While it would be disappointing for the supporters to see De Gea leave the club, the arrival of Bale would definitely soften the blow.
