Brazil midfielder Casemiro has issued a rallying cry to his Manchester United teammates, asking them to put in a better showing next season to challenge for major honours.

Casemiro posted a message on social media amplifying how important it will be for the Red Devils to improve on his first season at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old, who had a trophy-laden spell at the Santiago Bernabeu, joined Man United last summer from Real Madrid and scored seven goals in 53 appearances in all competitions and lifted the Carabao Cup.

In his post on Instagram, Casemiro also thanked the United fans for their support.

He wrote: 'Thank you all for this first great season and above all for your love towards my family and towards me.
