Man Utd great tells Pep Guardiola to sign a defender to close the gap on Liverpool.
Former England right-back Gary Neville has urged Manchester City to sign a centre-back in order to improve their defensive performance.
The former Manchester United captain believes the Cityzens must improve at the back in order to challenge Liverpool for the Premier League title.
"It's obvious City need a centre-back, it’s obvious they need to improve defensively. Their performance levels had been absolutely out of this world for three seasons, and then they ended up in a situation where they dropped off by that five per cent.
"The defence was not only weaker last season, they were getting run at more. The mentality for City has to be getting back to being a wounded team, a team that lost the league and a team that isn’t the best anymore.
"Accepting the fact they do need a centre-back, that could be the biggest change Pep Guardiola could put in that dressing room if they are to have a chance of beating Liverpool to the title."
