Man Utd legends, now BT Sport pundits heap praise on Donny van de Beek.
Van de Beek put in a top class display in Manchester United's win over Istanbul Basaksehir.
Owen Hargreaves lauded Dutch midfielder Van de Beek, saying his performance against Istanbul Basaksehir was 'close to perfect'.
Van de Beek made his fifth start of the season on Tuesday night following his £40million summer move from Ajax to Old Trafford.
The midfield ace played in a deeper role alongside Fred, but he was effective as he linked up with Bruno Fernandes, Edinson Cavani, and Marcus Rashford during the match.
He also played a vital role in United's fourth goal that was scored by Daniel James late in the 92nd minute and had a pass accuracy of 88 percent as well as 73 touches of the ball.
All in all, BT Sport pundit Hargreaves believes the 23-year-old deserves a starting place in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side that will be traveling to play Southampton on Sunday.
'Van de Beek is so unselfish that he can just fit in,' said Hargreaves.
'I think he's played himself into the starting lineup.'
Ex-United defender Ferdinand added: 'I was really was pleased with him. We've been impatient ourselves but Ole has shown why he has been thought of so highly.
'He's the one player than can play one-touch two-touch and keep it simple. He sacrifices parts of his game to help other people and you need that in great times.
'He's the one player that will make other players play well.'
