Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he hasn’t paid much attention to Jesse Lingard's contract situation at Manchester United.

The United manager is aware of the rumours linking the England international with a move away from Old Trafford but declared the 28-year-old is "training really well".

English tabloids have reported that the England international Lingard will leave Man United at the end of the season when his contract expires.

It is believed the lack of playing time has frustrated the playmaker and has led to him seeking pastures new after 22 years with the Premier League giants.

According to the Mirror, Lingard was aggrieved by the offer of an extension United tabled in September which would have required him to take a pay cut. He rejected the new contract and has no interest in recommencing talks with Old Trafford chiefs, meaning he is keen to leave at the expiry of his deal in June 2022.

When Solskjaer was asked about Lingard's situation in a press conference ahead of United's Premier League clash at Watford on Saturday, the Norwegian said Lingard is still a "big part of this squad".

"Jesse is training really hard, really well and he's ready and available for me, disappointed he's not playing more," the Red Devils boss said.

"In regards to contract situations and talks, I've not been in them very closely.

"For me, Jesse is still a big part of this squad and important and he gives quality to the group every day.

"Every player wants to play as much as possible, with Jesse and all my players. They're working really hard, can't fault the attitude when they're called upon.

"Jesse has done well when he's played for us and with the games coming up he's going to play a part."
