Bruno Fernandes has been likened to Manchester City midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne after shinning in Manchester United's 5-0 win over LASK in the Europa League.

The Red Devils ran riot over the Austrian club in the first leg of the last-16 clash at Linzer Stadion in Linz to effectively book a spot in the quarter finals of the competition.

The game was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Fernandes was key to United's win on the day, dictating the tempo in midfield throughout the match and assisted Odion Ighalo, who broke the deadlock with a wonderful volley.

And, former Man United midfield star Owen Hargreaves said the Portugal international, who sealed a move from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford in January, is "on fire", and compared him to former Chelsea star De Bruyne.

"Every time he gets the ball he makes something happen,' Hargreaves said on BT Sport. "Fernandes is on fire - he created five chances in that first half.

"Like De Bruyne, he plays at his own speed - he's never rushed, finds pockets of space.

"He has given everyone at the club a lift."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's Red Devils are on an 11-game unbeaten run and have not lost a match since Bruno Fernandes joined the team two months ago.
