Manchester United start off the 2015/16 season with a home tie against Tottenham Hotspur. The Red Devils will be looking to start the new season with a win over the Lilywhites. Last term the Reds started off with a 2-1 defeat to Garry Monk's Swansea at Old Trafford and the Dutch boss Louis van Gaal will be keen on securing three points this time around. David de Gea won't feature in the match because he is distracted by Real Madrid’s interest, the United manager confirmed in his press conference earlier today but it is a chance for new signing Sergio Romero or even Sam Johnstone to impose themselves as the new Red Devils no.1, should the Spaniard leave for Los Blancos this summer. As for Tottenham - who finished in 5th spot last season - Mauricio Pochettino wouldn't have been so happy when he found out his side will be starting the new campaign playing against United. The north London side have strengthened over the summer and also have Hugo Lloris, who has recovered from injury, back in the squad.
An intruiging tie awaits us tomorrow, and it will be the second time Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur meet on the opening weekend in the Barclays Premier League.
