Odegaard gave Arteta’s side a first-half lead in Greece last night.
The on-loan Real Madrid star could be set to remain at the Emirates beyond this season.
Martin Odegaard has given a hint that his loan-move from Real Madrid to Arsenal could be made permanent, reports Mirror Sport.
And, if that is the case, Mikel Arteta will be delighted the Norwegian is keen to remain at the Emirates beyond his loan spell.
Since the talented youngster signed for the North London club in January, he finally registered his first Arsenal goal with a stunning long-range strike in their 3-1 Europa League last 16 first-leg victory over Olympiacos on Thursday night.
Speaking after the match, the Real Madrid midfielder admitted that he feels at ‘home’ at Arsenal.
"I wanted to get a shot on goal, luckily I had a good hit and it went in,” he told BT Sport.
“I have felt at home since the first day, I am happy to be here and feel great.
"It is very important, we are not where we want to be in the league so this is very important for us and a chance to get Champions League football next year."
Arteta's side play arch-rivals rivals Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday before the second leg of their last-16 Europa League clash with Olympiacos.
