Mason is relishing the prospect of taking on Fiorentina.

Pochettino's side face Serie A team Fiorentina in the Europa League Round of 32 on Thursday night, and Ryan Mason is hoping they can get a positive result at the Stadio Artemio Franchi stadium.

“It’s massive – we all want to be playing in the big matches and this club needs to be playing in these sorts of games,” he said.

“Thursday and Sunday are huge matches for the club and everyone involved, so hopefully we can get positive results.”

Heading into this tie with La Viola, Tottenham are currently fifth in the Premier League table and have won once in their last three games but Mason is upbeat as he believes the trip to Fiorentina is one they have to overcome.

“We were a bit unfortunate in the draw as Fiorentina are one of the better teams in the competition but if you want to win a European trophy then you have to beat the best,” he added.

“If we get through then we’ll look forward to the last 16 but we’re not looking past Thursday yet.”
