Manchester United are unbeaten in 10 games in the Premier League and will be banking on their home form to keep that run going tomorrow having won 8 out of 10 games at Old Trafford this season.
Southampton will be a stiff test for Louis van Gaal’s men given their table position and the manager will definitely be worried given how United performed against them away from home. Robin van Persie was United’s saviour that day with a virtuoso display scoring both the goals in a 2-1 win at St Mary’s Stadium.
Van Gaal does have something to cheer him up as on the injury front, Ashley Young is the only first team player in the physio room. Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Rafael have all trained this week and might start or make the bench depending on their match fitness.
Manchester United 2-1 Southampton
Expecting Rooney to be on target tomorrow. Falcao didn’t look sharp against Yeovil but he should be ok for this game after having rested for a week. Shaw and Rafael should feature facilitating a return to the back four for United.
Predicted Starting XI:
De Gea, Rafael, Jones, Smalling, Shaw, Carrick, Rooney, Di Maria, Mata, Robin van Persie, Falcao.
