Michael Ballack is convinced his former club have what it takes to win Europe's elite club competition after the Blues beat German side FC Schalke 04 at the Gelsenkirchen.
Jose Mourinho's side booked their spot in the last 16 of the Champions League after a 5-0 triumph over Schalke on last night.
And Ballack, who spent four years at Stamford Bridge believes the Blues have a great chance of winning their second Champions League Cup this season.
“I cannot yet see any weak links, they are really solid and if you judge them after the game today, they can win it,” Ballack told Sky Sports News.
“And if you judge them after the whole season, then they can win it too!
“But it was not the right opponent today, and they know it too, and Mourinho is too experienced to get too euphoric.”
Michael Ballack scored his first goal for Chelsea on his Champions League debut against Werder Bremen back in 2006 and won 5 trophies during his spell at the club.
