The Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini is convinced his hard working midfielder James Milner will sign a new contract and remain at the club.
Milner who is 28 will be free to have contract negotiations with other clubs from January and is on his last year of his current contract at Manchester City.
But, Pellegrini has no doubt the England international will sign a new contract like his team-mate Joe Hart did on Friday.
"I think so. There are some differences that can be arranged," the City boss replied when asked during his press conference if James Milner will stay at the Etihad.
"We are talking with James. It is not easy for all the players to sign a new contract. There are a lot of things to talk, to decide, discuss.
"I hope finally James will sign his contract."
