The Blues manager has declared his side's unbeaten run this season won’t affect their thinking in tonight's London derby clash against Tottenham.
Chelsea extended their unbeaten run at the Stadium of Light on Saturday despite not scoring a goal against Sunderland.
However, Mourinho insists Chelsea will focus on their match against the Lilywhites and their unbeaten run in the Premier League will be left for football fans, pundits and others to discuss.
They play Tottenham - who have won three games in a row - at Stamford Bridge and the Portuguese is searching for three points as they look to bounce back to winning ways.
"If you play for staying undefeated because that is an objective, maybe you draw so many matches, you don’t risk to try to win matches, you are happy just to be undefeated" Mourinho told Chelsea website.
"If you get 10 draws you get 10 points, and if you win five games and lose five games, you get 15 points. I would prefer 15 points and to lose matches than 10 points and be undefeated.
"If against Tottenham we are 0-0 with 20 minutes to go, we are not going to play for the 0-0 to be undefeated after 21 matches. We are going to play matches to win and sometimes we will lose"
