Chelsea midfield marshal Nemanja Matic was pleased they secured a point after their 1-1 draw with the Premier League defending Champions Manchester City.
After the tie at Stamford Bridge which didn’t live up to what football fans expected, it ended with both sides scoring a goal each, Mourinho's team remain five points clear at the top of the table with Manchester City in second place.
Loic Remy who started upfront for the west London club scored the first goal in the 42nd minute and three minutes later, David Silva tapped in Sergio Aguero's shot to equalise for the Citizens.
In the second half, Chelsea didn’t offer much upfront but Pellegrini's side who did majority of the attack weren’t able to score and Matic was happy to take a point from the match.
"I think it is important for us and for them," Matic told Sky Sports. "To be honest we expected three points, but I think the draw is a good result for both teams.
"We had some chances, they had some. But it's the same, five points, and we are happy because of that. City showed they are very strong, they never give up and scored in the last minute of the first half."
Matic also felt that his side's extra-time clash with Liverpool in midweek also played a part.
"I am happy with how we played but we did our best after a hard game of 120 minutes," he added.
"We felt it especially in the last 20 minutes, a little bit tired, but I am happy because everyone gave 100 per cent."
