Newcastle Utd McClaren hails Leicester.

Newcastle United manager Steve McClaren has hailed the performance of Leicester City ahead of this weekend's encounter.

The Magpies host the Foxes at St. James' Park with Leicester in third place, a point behind table toppers Arsenal and Manchester City.

"What they've done is fantastic," said McClaren. "Even last season, the run they had to get out of the bottom three was amazing and I think Nigel Person deserves a lot of credit for that but (Claudio) Ranieri has come in and done a great job. He hasn't tinkered too much and adapted very well coming back to the Premier League.

"They're a team that have gone from strength to strength, Ranieri has kept what they had but only developed it. They don't concede many goals, especially from open play.

"They'll be hard to beat but it's up to us to put in the performance and fight we need to win the game."
