Ethan Nwaneri Commits Future to Arsenal: “I’m Ready to Give the Manager Everything”
Ethan Nwaneri’s Arsenal journey began when he was a schoolboy with a dream. Now, ten years later, that dream has taken a significant leap forward. The teenager has signed a new contract with the club he calls “home,” and he’s setting his sights on a bigger role in the seasons ahead.
The 18-year-old forward enjoyed a breakout 2024/25 campaign, making 37 appearances, scoring nine goals, and cementing his place as one of the brightest young prospects in the Premier League. But this, Nwaneri insists, is only the start.
“It means everything to me, I'm so happy to have got it done,” he told Arsenal’s official website. “This is where I feel at home, and where I’m going to develop the best. I'm ready… I see this as my first real season, part of a proper squad in the changing room. I'm so excited for what I can bring to the team and how I can help the team.”
Nwaneri’s rise has been rapid but not without challenges. Having debuted as the league’s youngest-ever player at 15 years and 181 days back in 2022, he had already caught the public’s eye.
Last season, he took the leap from prospect to contributor, scoring twice against Bolton Wanderers before adding memorable strikes versus Girona and Manchester City.
He’s quick to underline that his game is built on adaptability: “I'm a very versatile player, so I think I'm going to play anywhere across the front five, and I’m ready to do what the manager needs.”
Life at the top level has forced him to grow up quickly. The physicality of the Premier League and the mental grind of injuries have left their mark – in a good way.
“I've had to adapt to the demands of the Premier League,” he admitted. “I’ve changed physically, but also mentally in terms of dealing with setbacks and injuries.
“I think I've definitely become stronger. I’ve become more direct and I’ve added more goals, so I’m excited for what comes next.”
