Paul Scholes has singled out Ander Herrera as Manchester United’s most impressive summer signing.
The 25-year-old Spaniard has recovered from a slow start to life in the Premier League to become one of the Red Devils’ standout performers in recent weeks.
Herrera has scored five goals and made four assists in 22 Premier League appearances for Louis van Gaal’s men so far this season.
And former United midfielder Scholes has been thoroughly impressed by the way the Spaniard has adapted to life at Old Trafford in recent weeks.
Scholes told Newstalk FM: “I think it was difficult for all the signings at first – the first six, seven, eight months was probably very difficult.
“I think you’d have to say now that Herrera’s been the one who’s impressed me most.
“He’s another one that did struggle to get in the team early on, but now he’s playing really well, playing really good football, looks like he’s going to score goals, looks like he’s going to make goals.
“He’s been a great addition and he’s only a young lad as well so hopefully he can get even better.”
Herrera will be hoping to feature when United take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Sunday’s 3-0 defeat at Everton left United fourth in the Premier League table on 65 points heading into their final four games of the season.
The Red Devils face West Brom, Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Hull City in their remaining games as they look to qualify for the Champions League.
