Chelsea winger Pedro Ledesma has said that their win over Aston Villa at the weekend was vital.
Chelsea defeated Aston Villa by two goals to nothing over the weekend with a goal from Diego Costa and an own goal from Alan Hutton.
‘We are very happy,’ he said. ‘It was important because of the situation we’re in. In the end,
We’ve taken our game forward, and let’s see if we continue winning like this to do as well as we possibly can.
‘You have to think of the next game now, not to look at the table. We have to go game by game, step by step, imposing a different atmosphere and our best play. We have to have that winning feeling again, to help our position and keep going up to where we should be. We compete all together to get us out of this situation.
After joining the Blues from Barcelona in August, Pedro was making his seventh appearance for the club, and he explained how he has been adapting to Premier League football.
‘It’s different to what I’m used to, what I came from,’ he acknowledged. ‘I think there are a lot of differences – very physical football, very strong. A lot of players attack and all the games are competitive and balanced, so it’s always difficult to win.
‘All the teams want to play high, want to attack and want to score. There are a lot of very open games, and that’s nice for the players and for the supporters too.
‘Little by little, I’m integrating myself more, adapting with my team-mates and the team. I’m delighted to be here at this team.’
Chelsea will face Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League.
