Phil Jagielka wants Tottenham winger Aaron Lennon to stay at Everton.
The England winger has impressed at Goodison Park after joining on loan from Tottenham in February.
Lennon, 28, has scored twice in 13 appearances to help Roberto Martinez's team rescue their faltering campaign.
Defender Jagielka said: "He's been a massive, key component to why we've done so well these last couple of months.
"I'm sure if Spurs are looking to get rid, then the manager and the board will be looking to make that permanent.
"I was delighted when we got him in. His work rate is fantastic and he's nicked a couple of goals.
"I've known him for a long time. Growing up, he was just up the road when I was at Sheffield United and he was at Leeds.
"Unfortunately, when Spurs got a lot of money for Gareth Bale, they bought a couple of people who play in the same position as Aaron and he was forced down the pecking order."
