The Blues manager Jose Mourinho hopes Ramirez will get back to full fitness ahead of their FA Cup tie against Watford.
The Brazilian hasn’t had enough games under his belt this season due to a leg injury but had a few playing time when he came off the bench in their 5-3 defeat to Tottenham on New Year's Day.
However, Mourinho says the 27-year-old is now edging closer to full fitness.
“Hopefully Ramires is getting there step by step,” said Mourinho.
“Against Tottenham he played 45 minutes. He’s a player we need and he’s a player we haven’t had for the first part of the season.
“When we had him he was not really ready and finally he looks like he’s almost getting there.”
